Sometimes seeing a doctor face-to-face isn’t possible, especially at short notice. And now more than ever, we need our healthcare to be flexible.

The Livi app lets you see a GP by video the same day, in a few simple steps. The best part? You don’t need to leave home, so you can stay in your pyjamas if you like. Here’s 5 ways you can benefit from using a video GP.

1. To suit your schedule

Life can be hectic, especially when trying to juggle work, family and life’s other plans. And when you need to get something checked out, it can be tricky to get a doctor’s appointment that suits.

But it’s super convenient with video GPs, as you can have your appointment from anywhere – whether you choose to be seen just after you sign up, or book a time up to 7 days ahead. Livi GPs are available every day and outside of usual practice hours, so if you need to speak to someone in the evening after work, or on a Sunday afternoon, you can.

2. To get medical advice quickly

It can be tempting to delay medical appointments and ignore a new ache, pain or worry, but the quicker you get it sorted, the better. Whether you have a long-term health condition or an unusual new symptom you need looked at, you can see a GP by video within minutes.

Just open the app, enter your details and wait for the next available GP. They’ll call you in the app and give you the medical advice you need.

3. To get a prescription the same day

Livi is useful for quick prescriptions and referrals too. If you need a prescription, it’ll be sent to a pharmacy in your local area, usually ready to collect within hours of your appointment. Really handy if you need relief from painful or unpleasant symptoms quickly, without going to a GP practice.

4. To avoid waiting rooms

We’re now more aware than ever that staying at home helps reduce the spread of illnesses like the flu, colds, and of course, COVID-19. With Livi, you don’t have to worry about going to the surgery, tackling public transport or spending time in waiting rooms. By speaking to a GP on video, you’re safe and comfortable at home, without exposure to viruses and germs.

5. To have a doctor in your pocket

With online medical services, there’s no geographical boundary. Livi is available to everyone living in England, and you can use it wherever you are. You can access reputable doctors and specialists that might otherwise be unavailable to you, or would come with a long wait list. Getting a face-to-face appointment is not always easy, but with Livi, you can have the easiest access to quality healthcare.

Livi is available free on the NHS to people in eligible areas, but anyone living in England can use the pay-as-you-go service. Download the Livi app and see a GP the same day, or book up to a week ahead. Livi GPs are available seven days a week – even evenings and weekends.
