Livi announces two-year extension to Vitality partnership

Last updated:
  • Livi will continue to provide its digital platform and clinical services to enhance digital care journeys for members via the Vitality GP app

Livi has announced an extended partnership with Vitality to provide digital GP consultations to Vitality customers via Vitality GP, an online app that provides members with virtual GP video consultations*. The extension will see the businesses working together for an additional two years.

Through the app, Vitality GP delivers leading everyday care** benefits which members can access quickly and easily. This includes access to 24/7 healthcare advice, and the sending of digital prescriptions directly to a member's pharmacy. According to Vitality’s recent Health Claims Insights report, the app has continued to grow in popularity, delivering over 10,000 consultations every month in 2022, a 3x increase from 2019.

Livi’s supporting technology platform ensures Vitality GPs can now provide members with immediate pre-authorised referral for onward treatment. Members receive confirmation of their claim's authorisation within minutes, with a link to book onward treatment through Vitality’s Care Hub. This gives members faster access to care, a more efficient service, and greater control over their onward care journeys.

Johannes Schildt, CEO of Livi said: “We bring together digital healthcare services, offering an efficient and personalised patient experience throughout. We’re super proud to expand our partnership with Vitality and look at innovative ways we can integrate quality care and advances in technology.”

Dr Bryony Henderson, Associate Medical Director at Livi comments: “With increasing pressure on our health systems, we have to transform and look to long term, practical ways to ensure smooth and simple patient access to primary care and secondary care specialisms across Europe. We’re delivering innovative pathways that are focused on improving patient outcomes and work in parallel to public health systems to boost capacity.”

Going forward, Livi and Vitality will continue to provide members with easy, effective access to GPs, while simplifying the user experience through the integration of automation technologies and making member experiences even better.

Dr. Ali Hasan, Chief Commercial Officer, Vitality said: “We are thrilled to continue providing our members with access to GPs through the Vitality GP App.

"Livi has been an integral partner to us, delivering a consistently responsive service and scaling up consultations to meet the rapidly increasing demand from our customers. The extension of our partnership reflects our commitment to continue delivering and evolving our primary care services for our members, services which have become an integral part of our private medical insurance since we first introduced them in 2015.

“We pride ourselves on leading the use of healthcare technology for our customers. As consumer expectations continue to shift and evolve, our digital journeys and pathways must meet their unique expectations and needs.”
