Looking after your health doesn’t need to take lots of time and effort. Our online GP app is ideal for those times when you can’t get to the surgery, or need to speak to a GP the same day. We’re open 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends.
Livi’s online doctor app also allows you to book a GP appointment in advance to fit in with your busy schedule – and access any prescriptions or referrals you may need while at home or on the go.
How to use the Livi app
Download Livi
Sign up and select your existing GP practice for our free NHS service. If you’re not yet eligible you can choose to use our pay-as-you-go service instead.
Book an appointment – at a time that suits you
See a doctor on the app the same day or book up to 3 days ahead. Your GP will call you in the app to start your video appointment.
Get medical advice, prescriptions & referrals
Our GPs can offer medical advice, prescriptions delivered to a pharmacy near you and referrals to a specialist, if necessary.

FAQs
With Livi, you can see a registered GP by video from your mobile phone or tablet. They can offer medical advice for any symptoms that do not require a physical examination. To speak to a doctor through your phone, simply download the Livi app from the App Store or Google Play, sign up and follow the steps. You can choose to see the next available doctor or book a specific time in the next three days.
Once you’ve booked, you’ll be asked to fill out a symptom form and can attach photos to help the Livi doctor diagnose your condition. They can then advise whether you need any medicine or further care.
The Livi app is free for everyone and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Livi has partnered with local NHS GP surgeries across the country to provide an online NHS GP service. If you’re registered with one of our partner NHS practices, your GP appointments will be free. The only charge will be for prescribed medications which can vary.
If your area is not yet eligible, you can use our pay-as-you-go service that allows you to use the online GP app the same day for £60. This includes any prescription-writing, fit notes and specialist referrals.
We also partner with employers and employee assistance programmes. Employees will receive a voucher code for same day GP appointments. If applicable, you can access your free, or discounted, appointment via the Livi app. Please speak to your employer to find out more information.
Medications prescribed by our pay-as-you-go service will not be eligible for NHS exemptions or discounts. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payments.
Once you’ve made an appointment through our Livi app, we aim to put you in touch with a Livi GP as soon as possible. This waiting time can vary throughout the day, but does not usually exceed an hour.
There are some cases where we would not recommend using an online doctor app. For example, you:
have a symptom or condition that needs a physical examination (e.g. you need to have your chest listened to or ear examined)
are in need of controlled drugs, like those containing pregabalin (Lyrica) or gabapentin (Neurontin) – these are not prescribed by Livi GPs
may need treatment that involves long-term and regular medical contact
are in need of a sick note (fit note) that may need to be extended for longer than 2 weeks – Livi GPs can provide sick notes for up to 14 days only
Yes, if you are abroad, our GPs can provide advice and issue prescriptions or referrals that you can use upon your return to the UK, provided it is clinically appropriate to wait until then.
